HOLY SPIRIT THE GURANTOR OF OUR HOPE

Jesus, in today’s Gospel from John 14 promises to send the Spirit of truth, another advocate to abide with us forever.  Jesus calls him another advocate, because Jesus is our advocate. But as he goes to prepare a place for us, this another advocate becomes the guarantee, the pledge (See Eph 1:14) of our hope and then continues Jesus’ mission of bringing us to Life. Hence, Jesus calls him the spirit of truth, because by leading us to the truth Our, we truly have life.

Therefore, we depend on the Holy Spirit for witnessing/ everything.  He gives us utterance and answers for those who wants to know the reason for our Hope. He sealed us at baptism and transferred us from darkness to light. As we approach the Pentecost feast, let us pray for the grace to allow him to lead us to the true knowledge of God’s love so that, as St Peter invites us in today’s second reading from 1 Peter 3, Jesus may be reverenced and adored in Hearts.
